Start with the exact vehicles, then compare the features you will actually use. An original window sticker helps establish factory equipment; it does not replace checking the vehicle today.
Match the sticker to the vehicle
Use the full VIN on the listing and match it to the original manufacturer sticker. Two vehicles with the same model and trim can have different packages. A stock number helps find a dealership listing, but the VIN identifies the vehicle behind the document. If the VIN is unreadable or does not match, stop and request the correct sticker.
Read standard equipment and options together
Check both sections before deciding what is included. An option can replace standard equipment, and a package name may need its own factory explanation. Ford’s original label example separates standard equipment from equipment groups and options. It illustrates the format, not a vehicle offered on this site.
For your shortlist, write down a few must-haves: seat ventilation, a particular camera system, a roof choice or towing equipment. Compare each requirement separately. A package shared by two vehicles does not establish that every feature is identical across different model years.
Know the difference between unknown and absent
“Not confirmed” means the evidence is incomplete. It does not mean the vehicle lacks the feature. Sometimes an exact model-year, trim and package guide establishes a standard feature even when the sticker does not spell it out. A missing optional feature can be ruled out only when the complete sticker and the applicable factory rules support that conclusion.
Our comparison distinguishes sticker wording, reviewed standard or package equipment, confirmed factory absence and details still needing confirmation. Unsupported sticker layouts and unavailable originals remain unconfirmed. Do not treat every blank comparison cell as a reason to reject a vehicle.
Give used vehicles an extra check
The original label describes the factory configuration. Check present condition, operation, service history and later changes separately. Ford’s accessory definitions distinguish dealer-installed accessories from items on a factory sticker. A used vehicle may have additions that the original label never listed.
